Yomatech Signs EGP3 Electrical and Instrumentation Contract in Escravos with Hyundai

Escravos,  October 16th , 2007

Yomatech Nigeria Limited signed a new contract between Hyundai Heavy Industries HHI of South Korea and Chevron Nigeria Limited CNL, the contract which is built around the ideals of the local content policy in Nigeria?s Oil and Gas sector is a landmark achievement

It is quite pioneering for a scope of work with such strategic magnitude to be entrusted to a 100% local content company.

The contract will involve recruitment of a professional project team to be located on site at Escravos where Yomatech is to set up a temporary portakabin office facility, and also open a new project office located in Warri and also the recruitment of field workers on the basis of a previous PLA (project labor agreement) with the crafts union on the escravos facility.

Now the interesting aspects of this contract is that a local content Nigerian company is being put to test with a responsibility that is strategic, sensitive and will serve as a reference point for future contract awards to local companies in the service sector of Nigeria s oil and Gas business.

The signing ceremony which was witnessed by the Hyundai Executive Vice president and EGP 3 project Director Mr. Ho Chu Yoon, also had the Executive chairman and CEO of Yomatech Olorogun Theo Mukoro, including the construction manager for escravos CNL Mr. Tom Koren, in attendance.

Assurances were exchanged by both parties that the best quality approaches to project execution will be employed and that HHI will render any assistance possible to enable Yomatech successfully execute the project to a successful completion.
